Nice to meet you

Jason Slomovitz
DMD

"I strive to make every patient feel like they're the only one in the office. I will listen to you and empower you with personalized solutions in a supportive environment."

Dentistry

Raised in New Hope, PA, Dr. Jason Slomovitz started working in his father’s dental office at just eight years old, when he handed out balloons to kids in the waiting room. By age 12 he was developing radiographs and worked his way up to surgical assistant by age 16.

Service

During dental school, Dr. Slomovitz served as the President of his dental fraternity, Alpha Omega. Through his fraternity, and with help from the Boston Red Sox, he organized a trip to an orphanage in the Dominican Republic. With his classmates and professors, he provided dental care to children, athletes at the Red Sox training facility, and residents of surrounding villages. This experience opened his eyes to the importance of patient education and the need to empower patients to understand their dental health. This continues to be a guiding principle in his practice today.

Training

In addition to the decade-plus of intense, on-the-job training with his family's practices, Dr. Slomovitz has completed multiple Spear Education workshops, Implant Pathways, an advanced program in regenerative dentistry utilizing PRF and PRP, and Endo E-School. He most recently earned a Fellowship at the International Conference of Oral Implantology. Fueling his passion for dentistry, he continues to explore the incredible advancements in dental medicine through continuing education courses.

Education

Dr. Slomovitz earned both his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Tufts University. At his dental school graduation, he was awarded the Alumni Clinical Excellence Award in General Dentistry, which is given to one student annually for outstanding achievements in patient care.

Experience

After dental school, Dr. Slomovitz completed training under an oral surgeon, a periodontist, and a team of general dentists. He spent many years managing multi-specialty dental offices, training and supervising doctors and staff while balancing a full schedule of clinical dentistry. More recently, he worked in a small practice making a conscious shift to immerse himself in the best materials and modern techniques while honing his approach to comprehensive care.

Home Life

After years of unwavering support in his career from his wife, she was offered her dream job as a professor at Duke Law. They relocated from Philadelphia and love their new community in Durham. Dr. Slomovitz loves spending time with his wife and two children, as well as cooking, traveling, and photography. Once a (not-so-skilled) surfer and lifeguard, he still enjoys catching a wave or two on the Jersey Shore, but he has made a point to spend as much time as he can exploring the coast and the mountains of his beautiful new home.
